Top Ten TV Theme Songs to Sing at Karaoke

Wednesday May 20, 2009 1:22 PM

When people go to karaoke, their go-to songs are usually something by Journey or Bon Jovi. We would like to change that culture by providing a guide to the best tv theme songs to sing at karaoke. Each one has been given a “best” category to fit your situation or feelings for the night. Also the added bonus is if you really suck these songs are way shorter than normal songs! Get ready to blow the minds of a half full bar of drunk people. You’re welcome America.

10. Family Matters (Best Ever)

There is no question that this is the best theme song ever. It is not only the perfect combination of vocals and instruments, it is also not that hard to sing, so it will make you sound that much better to that really drunk chick in the back that might be giving you the stink eye. Oh no, she just has one eye. I say go for it.

9. Full House (Best ambiguously gay)

Feeling a little confused tonight, well so were those three dudes living together in San Francisco.

8. Step by Step (Best duet)

If you happen to being singing with a lady friend tonight then Step by Step provides a great duet plus the show is about people with a ton of kids, which means a ton of banging. Think about it.

7. Family Ties…

…and Growing Pains (Best no one remembers which is which)

TIED for 7. Family Ties and Growing Pains are forever linked because people can never remember which one is which. This can be to your advantage when singing because fans of both shows will think you are singing to them.

6. Charles in Charge (Best Creepy subject matter)

This song would work best when your local S and M bar has karaoke night.

5. The Facts of Life (Best for the ladies)

The singer is a woman so the ladies can sing it. The show is about a bunch of chicks living in one house so the guys can fantasize about it.

4. Fresh Prince of Bel Air (Best Urban)

I am pretty sure that Best Urban explains this one.

3. Cheers (Best song that is way longer than anyone knows)

This song is way longer than anyone realizes which could either hurt because you don’t know the words, or help you when everyone is impressed at the fact you actually know the words. Impressed might be overstating.

2. Brady Bunch (Best use of kids voices)

If happen to bring your youth group to the bar that night for the monthly field trip this is the perfect song. It is easy to sing and teaches about how lonely divorce is.

1.Gilligan’s Island (Best use of Sound effects)

If you can pull off making all of the sound effects while you are singing then you are probably going to be drinking free the rest of the evening.
