Stephen Colbert’s visit to the troops stationed in Iraq has turned out great so far. At least for Colbert– the soldiers are still stuck there. But Colbert has enjoyed a tremendous amount of press, and his shows have been edgy (yet a true tribute to our fightin’ guys’n'gals) and hilarious.
Proof: This bit with Mr. America’s Favorite, Tom Hanks. Seemingly recovered from his run-in with a meteor on Conan, Hanks digs right in and helps Colbert prepare what has to be the worst care package ever sent to the troops. Even worse than care packages that only contain Bibles. And look! Puppies!
