Norm MacDonald‘s recent appearance on the Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien was about par for the course when it comes to Norm guesting on late night talk shows. He told old jokes (updated with references to Andy Richter being an extremely industrious yet bargain-priced male prostitute), half-heartedly set up hilariously dry sketches, and embarrassed the host with profanity. (Was Norm the first person to utter a bleeped-out “f*ck” on Conan’s Tonight?)
As awesome as that was, even more Norm-y awesomeness occurred behind the scenes. The Tonight Show website has posted this video of Norm working overtime to keep Conan from completing one usable Tonight Show promo. You can’t tell from the clip, but it actually took them nine hours to film this thirty second promo, during which Norm had time to sober up, then get drunk all over again. Norm should be on everything all the time.
