‘Conchord’ Jemaine Clement Gets Emmy Nod, Murray Gets Snubbed

Thursday July 16, 2009 8:54 PM

The Emmy nominations were announced this morning, and HBO’s Flight Of The Conchords is up for Best Comedy Series. Jemaine Clement is nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Both these nods, though surprising, are well-deserved. It doesn’t make sense, though, for Emmy to single out Clement, while leaving perhaps the most important part of FOTC completely un-honored. Of course, we’re talking about Murray.

Rhys Darby plays Murray, the Conchords’ “manager”, and he’s the funniest part of the show, every week, no matter what you say. We can only imagine how sad and lonely poor Mr. Darby must be, crying his eyes out in New Zealand, with only the toothbrush fence and Yes Man royalties to keep him company. After the jump, we have a best-of-Murray clip that the Emmy nominating committee must not have seen. Maybe they don’t have internet? But first, this one goes out to you, Rhys.

After the jump, so much more Murray!
