Back in the eighties, the networks would cobble together a lame half-hour preview special with clips from their awful new fall cartoons, hosted by somebody terrible. Ratings dynamite! Somehow, these specials actually made the upcoming cartoons sound worse than they really were, which was no mean feat. (Take a look at the worst eighties cartoon theme songs if you don’t believe us.)
Worst Cartoons Ever found this clip of ventriloquist Willie Tyler and his little buddy Lester telling “jokes” about ABC’s “exciting” fall line-up. If you’re going to hire someone to plug cartoons, ABC In The Eighties, howsabout picking someone who can pronounce “Superman”? Also the song (?) at the end is pretty amazing. Man, was anything ever good?
