How long was this effing show? Because the opening is like two weeks long. By the time the intro is over, how is there time for “Fraidy Cat,” let alone “The New Adventures Of Waldo Kitty,” let alone “My Favorite Martians,” let alone the freaking “GROOVIE GOOLIES?” They lure you in with the promise of “The Groovie Goolies,” and then what do they give you? “MUSH.” What happened to truth in advertising? “The Groovie Goolies” would not be friends with an animated Lassie. They just would not! We know our “Goolies” and they just gosh-darn-it-to-heck wouldn’t!” (We’re assuming that Groovie Goolies fans in 1977 wouldn’t curse.)
Is there an opening longer than this one ever in the history of television? Is there a longer list of obscure, unwatched programming? This is historic, people. We should notify a museum. Seriously, we’ve heard some bad cartoon openings before, but this is amazing.
Because you were good, watched all the way through and weren’t frightened away by either the scary cartoon characters or the never-ending parade of poorly done Mexican animation, here’s the opening to “Waldo Kitty.” It’s not exceptionally long, but it is equally amazing.
