Seth MacFarlane has embraced the historic Best Comedy Emmy nomination for “Family Guy” with the same sensitivity and sense of dignity with which he announced Stewie was gay. That is to say, not much. (Being gay makes you want to kill your mother?) The “Family Guy” Emmy campaign repurposes the forever-long violence from the “Where’s My Money” episode, changes it to “Where’s My Emmy?” and adds jokes aimed at the competition, from “Flight Of The Conchords” (“They’re not even from here!”) to “The Office” (“What kind of documentary follows you to your house?” ) to “30 Rock” (“Probably going to win.”) Below, we’ve listed the 5 Reasons Seth MacFarlane Should Get Booed At The Emmys.
6. ‘The Office”
Mindy Kaling took this well. Better, probably, than any Indians who actually live in Scranton will.
5. “Flight Of The Conchords”
If you’re going to make fun of someone’s sideburns, “Family Guy,” that person should be Jon Gosselin.
4. “Entourage”
In which Seth MacFarlane attacks Jeremy Piven’s toupee. Because Seth MacFarlane’s hair looks so natural. Not that we’re defending “Entourage.” In a “Family Guy” vs. “Entourage” Battle Of The Douchebags, we’re all winners.
3. “30 Rock”
Not as funny as the “30 Rock” porn parody, but definitely more violent.
2. “How I Met Your Mother”
We got nothin’. Sorry. Looks like we’re going to have to start watching either “HIMYM” or “Family Guy” before we can continue with this post. Entertain yourselves. We’ve got to update our Netflix queue.
1. “Weeds”
Okay, okay, fine, you know what? This one’s pretty funny. Build up and pay off, right? Plus, unnecessary cursing is always hilarious to us. You won us over this time, “Family Guy.”. But Seth MacFarlane’s hair still looks fake to us.
BONUS! Here’s the original “Where’s My Money” clip of extended baby-on-dog violence.
