This is one of the most memorable clips from Johnny Carson’s reign at “The Tonight Show.” Dom DeLuise instructs Carson to sit at a table as he constructs a crazy egg contraption. Dom promises that a tray with several raw eggs will fly through the air with the greatest of ease. After moments of panic, vamping and Dom’s famous laugh, Dom smacks the tray with a broom handle. All of the eggs fall neatly in their respective glasses.
The trick is a success! The two men toss raw eggs to each other and Johnny even juggles. Then Johnny starts throwing eggs at Dom, eventually smacking one on his head. Then he shoves one in his pants. Dom retaliates by pouring water on the host. Johnny then shoves another egg down the performer’s pants AND his own.
